Obituary

Theresa A. (Duffy) Little, 93, formerly of Ravenswood Avenue, Providence, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2021, at The Highlands on the East Side, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis E. Little, Jr. Esq.

Born in Providence, Theresa was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary T. (Woods) Duffy.

A graduate of Pawtucket West High School, Theresa was employed as a stenographer at the Quonset Point Naval Base, before leaving to raise her children.  Later, she served as secretary for Rhode Island Prepaid Legal Services, founded by her husband. She was a long-time communicant of St. Augustine’s Church. Theresa was very involved in the PTA at both the Nathaniel Green School and the Robert F. Kennedy School, where she served as President.

Theresa is survived by two sons, Francis E. Little, III and wife Colleen of Hope Valley, John M. Little and wife Kerri of Cumberland, three daughters, Kathleen M. Jenkins and husband Richard H. II of Bow, NH, Joan T. Pieroni and husband Edward P. of East Greenwich, Theresa A. Assunto and husband Joseph M. of Jaffrey, NH. She was the adoring Nana of twelve loving grandchildren, Richard H. Jenkins, III of Nashua, NH, Robert S. Jenkins of Manchester, NH, Katie M. Jenkins of Bow, NH, Francis E. Little IV and wife Kaylen of North Kingstown, Kyle R. Little and Fiancée Brianna Johnson of La Crescenta, CA, Evan J. Little, of Providence, Erica L. Valenziano and husband Brian C. of East Norriton, PA, Ryan M. Pieroni of North Quincy, MA, Jason E. Pieroni of Burlington, VT, John M. Little, Jr. of Zionsville, IN, Shannon T. Little of Cumberland, Joseph M. Assunto IV, of Jaffrey, NH. She was also the loving great nana of Ayla M. and Annie T. Little and Brian C. Valenziano Jr. and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her beloved son James J. Little, grandson Matthew F. Jenkins and sister of the late John and Frances Duffy, and Carol Grady.

Visitation Saturday morning from 10 – 12 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle and Son, 331 Smith St., Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence.  Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
