Richard K. Costabile, 86, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Anna J. (Mega) Costabile. They were married for sixty-one years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio N. and Caroline (Lucidi) Costabile
He is also survived by his son Richard A. Costabile and his wife Cathy of Coventry, and his daughter Ann Marie (Devine) and her husband Stephen of Cranston, a sister Marie Boscia and three wonderful grandchildren that he cherished with all his heart, Jeffrey, Katelyn, and Bryan. He was a brother of the late Anthony, Ciro, Donald, and William Costabile.
Richard served our country honorably during the Korean War in the United States Army.
Richard worked for BIF Inc. as a quality control supervisor for 30+ years until its closing and then Leviton Manufacturing Company for several years before retiring.
He was a coach in the Mount Pleasant Little League System for a few years. Richard was an avid sports fan. He loved all the New England sports teams, with a special devotion to the Boston Red Sox. He absolutely loved going to see his grandsons play basketball and his granddaughter play tennis at their local high schools. He was such a proud "papa."
Richard's funeral and visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in Holy Apostles Church 800 Pippin Orchard Rd, Cranston. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
