Maureen K. McGovern, of Riverside, formerly of Cranston and Foster, passed away peacefully at home in Riverside on Tuesday June 2, 2020.
Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Ellen (O’ Sullivan) McGovern.
Maureen graduated from LaSalle Academy and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Rhode Island College. She would go on to work as a consultant for ArtFacts in North Kingstown. Some of her happiest memories were traveling with the Antiques Road Show, consulting on the part of ArtFacts. People would often say she had an infectious laugh and her eyes would jig as she would roar with laughter. She was an avid sports fan, loving her New England Patriots and always had a soft spot for animals.
Maureen is survived by her sister Colleen M. McGovern of Riverside, her brother Dr. Cahil McGovern and his wife Patricia of North Kingstown, she also leaves her nephews and niece whom she truly loved, James C. McGovern, Liam O. McGovern and Maura C. McGovern all of North Kingstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday June 8, 2020 at 10:00 am in St. Brendan’s Church, 60 Turner Ave, Riverside. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours are Sunday June 7, 2020 from 5:00 -7:00 pm.
