Obituary

 Marion Eline (Desper) Verdecchia, of 18 Delmar Avenue, Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2020. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Verdecchia, Sr.

Born in Milford, MA she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Grant) Desper.

Marion worked for the Providence School Department and New England Telephone for many years before retirement. In her spare time she loved knitting and crocheting children’s baby blankets and hats for Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda L. Rezendes who lovingly cared for her mother in her home with her husband, Tom and her son Matthew Rezendes, Marion E. Rowan and her husband, Kevin, and Donna L. Fennelly and her husband, Charles, three sons, John Lempitsky of CO., Richard Lempitsky, and Salvatore Verdecchia Jr., and wife Dana. 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was the mother of the late Ronald Lempitsky.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117) Warwick. A funeral service will begin held at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
