Louis A. Venagro, Jr., 73, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Hulitar Hospice Center. Born July 14, 1947, in Providence RI he was the son of the late Louis A. and Hilda (Riccitelli) Venagro.
His greatest love was his beloved wife of 49 years Patricia A. (Blair) Venagro. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage May 29th. He leaves three sons, Louis J. Venagro (Summer), Michael L. Venagro (Stacie) and Joseph P. Venagro (Brianna); two daughters, Maria E. Renzulli (Joseph) and Elizabeth A. Perreault (Christopher).
Louis’s 12 grandchildren, Connor, Grace and Olivia Venagro; Joseph, Jack and Mia Renzulli; Julia, Nicole and Sarah Perreault; Aidan Venagro; and Logan and Emerson Venagro were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Papa’s giving spirit, the memories of many trips for ice cream, hours of playing with them, and his love of the Giants and Yankees, will live on through them.
Lou, who was lovingly called “Chuck” by his siblings, is also survived by his three sisters and their husbands, Marie Delbuono (Vincent), Ann Creta (Raymond) and Rosalie Caranci.
Louis was a 1965 graduate of Lasalle Academy and a 1969 graduate of Bryant University. His true passion was for his students, teaching for the Providence School Department for over thirty-five years before retiring in 2010. He spent most of his career teaching math at Central High School. For nearly twenty-five years, early every morning, Lou, along with family members, delivered the Providence Journal to residential customers.
Lou was the true definition of a family man. He was a person of deep faith who loved spending time with his family and friends above all else.
