Jason “Bounyim” Choummalaithong,
of Providence, RI
passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Jason “Bounyim” Choummalaithong, age 73, was born on January 02, 1948 in Laos. He later
came to the USA with his loving wife, Bounyong Choummalaithong, and their six children,
Souvannahong Choummalaithong, Vongsavanh Choummalaithong, Thotsakanh
Choummalaithong, Orahanh Choummalaithong, Dordouangchanh Choummalaithong, and
Thairamphanh Choummalaithong in August of 1987, then later having his seventh child,
Steven “T.” Choummalaithong on November 09, 1993 in Providence, RI. He was also a
loving grandfather to 18 grandchildren, and a great-grandfather to a great-grandson.
Jason “Bounyim” Choummalaithong was well known by many and was loved by many
communities altogether. He was always a positive person, while never having failed to
keep a smile on his face for everyone around him to see, he had always given a reason for
everyone to smile themselves. He loved to laugh and make jokes with his friends and
family no matter what the occasion. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, karaoke,
and social drinking with his friends. Besides his favorite things that he enjoyed doing, he
was also a hardworking husband and father for his family. He always remained truly
humble and happy for everything in his life and would never put himself before his family
or anyone else. He never sought any recognition for his generosity or love. His energy and
his presence was always cherished and respected by many people near and far. There will
never be enough words whether written or spoken to describe the impression that he left
on others. We all will remain eternally grateful and honored for having him in our lives and
for all of the happiness and love that he provided us. He will be dearly missed and shall
remain to live on in our hearts and our memories always and forever.
