Franz P. Schmid, 77, of Warwick passed away December 23 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved spouse of Jacqueline D. (Broderick) Schmid for the past 55 years.
Born in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Josef and Helen (Aubrey) Schmid.
Franz served in the United States Navy from 1961-1981 as a cook and later worked as a supervisor in the kitchen at RI Hospital for several years before retiring.
In addition to his wife Jacqueline, he leaves a son Franz Paul Schmid, Jr., and his wife Melinda, two daughters, Lori Lee Schmid and Patricia Waits Lopiccolo and her husband Paul, a brother, Robert Schmid, two sisters, Sr. St. Cyrille du St. Rosaire and Mary Parks, and five loving grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Josef, Jr. and Helen Schmid.
Franz visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 29 at 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rte. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowessett Road, Warwick. Interment with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
