Christopher A. "Sonny" Quinn, Jr., 85, of North Providence, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Violet C. ( Robitaille - LaMontagne) Quinn. They were married for 37 years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Christopher A. Quinn, Sr., and Catherine (Grossi) Quinn.
Chris worked at Taco Inc. in Cranston, RI retiring as a Commercial Product Manager after 36 years. He also worked as a bartender at the Providence Firefighter's Memorial Hall for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2359 in Smithfield, RI and Greystone Social Club where he encountered many loyal, true and lasting friends.
Chris was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf, football baseball, but especially horse racing. For many consecutive years, he attended the Kentucky Derby with some of his best buddies. He enjoyed listening to music from the 70's and 80's, and his favorite Neal Diamond. He took painting classes for a few years and became good enough to gift some of those paintings to family and friends.
In addition to his wife Vi, he leaves a daughter, Susan Brophy, a sister, Cynthia Vanni,a grand daughter, Kristen Brophy, two step children, Michelle Marino and Michael LaMontagne, three step grandchildren, Dante and Adriana Marinaro and Hailley LaMontagne, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Virginia Avanzo and Judith Mangano. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
