Anne (Anna) Roberta Maguire Crisologo of Cranston passed comfortably at age 90 on All Souls
Day from organ failure complications after hip surgery.
A native Rhode Islander with a penchant for travel and adventure, she was a first generation
Irish-American, with parents Peter Maguire and Delia McGuire arriving, meeting and marrying in
Providence around the turn of the century. They settled on the former western end of Pettis
Street (now the Post Office) with nearby cousins in the Flynn family. Chatty and socially adept,
she made friends easily and kept in touch always. Devoted to her family she would always
make it back to ‘the Big House’ in Cranston which her parents eventually purchased fulfilling
The American dream in a generation.
The youngest of 8, she was predeceased by her husband Dr. Juanito Crisologo and siblings
Kathleen (‘Kit’) Summe, Reverend Peter, Mary, Sue, Patrick, Genie, and Brendan.
She is with them all now and their welcoming embrace with the Lord.
She is survived by her son John, his wife Catherine, and her grandchildren Dr. Anna Curtin,
Rachel Crisologo, Kaitlyn Tuminaro, great grandson Brennan.
Further nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and their families abound descended from her
siblings stretching from Rhode Island to Kentucky.
She graduated from St. Xavier high school and Emanuel college in Boston, had a brief career in
social work at the former Chapin hospital before moving to New Jersey, getting married, and
transitioning to full time mom and homemaker. Her husband loved to travel and explore the
country, so they lived in rural Virginia, Missouri, Fargo and Westport Massachusetts before
returning to Cranston and eventual retirement in Gulf coast Florida. She moved back to ‘the Big
House’ after her husband passed with her remaining siblings.
Her life was full of adventure and new places to explore. Any vacation time or work conference
was a road trip. From camping at the Grand Canyon to Tequilarias in Mexico. Old Faithful and
Little Big Horn. The Cincinnati Zoo and The Four Corners in the Southwest. Seattle to Savanna.
Disneyland to Disney World. Not to mention Ireland, the Philippines, Pearl Harbor, Canada and
