Ronald K. “ Ronnie “ Almeida, 67, of Friendship Street, Providence, formerly of Orms Street on Smith Hill, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia A. Rainey.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late John L. and Marion ( Dias ) Almeida.
Ronnie served his country honorably as a US Army Paratrooper. He worked as a Formen in the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Providence for over 37 years retiring in 2011. He was an avid sports fan, loved to be around his family and friends and was by all accounts a natural born comedian.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughters, Devona Rainey of Providence, Sh-Ron Almeida of Providence, grandchildren Khouron Rainey, Egypt Cole, Seray Cole and Isaiah Brown all of Providence, his sisters, Claudette F. Jackson of Providence, Balbina A. Young and her husband Lonnie of Cranston and Brenda J. Almeida of Providence. He was the brother of the late Olympia Billue, Jacqueline M. Clements, Carolyn J. Sims, Janice S. Bryant, John L. Almeida Jr., Elaine M. Almeida, Leslee J. Clement, Gerald L. Almeida and James F. Almeida
Funeral will be held Wednesday November 6, 2019 at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence followed by burial with full Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours are Tuesday 5:00-8:00 pm.
