O’Malley, Robert E., of Narragansett, passed away suddenly Sunday evening, May 20, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Frances P. (Reilly) O’Malley for the past fifty-seven years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Austin and Marguerite McCuster O’Malley.
Bob worked for the United States Government in the Department of Social Security, and was the manager in the Warwick Office for many years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a 1958 graduate of Providence College. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and loved his Irish heritage.
In addition to his wife Frances, he leaves two sons, Timothy M. O’Malley and William E. O’Malley; a daughter, Patricia A. Clarey and her husband Michael; two brothers, Austin and Brian O’Malley; a sister, Patricia Baribault; seven loving grandchildren, Connor, Reilly, Aidan, Colleen, Ciara, Liam and Nolan; and Luke, the beloved dog whom he loved. He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Farrell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, at 11:00 am, in Saint Mary, Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, to which relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held in the Church, one hour and half prior to Mass, from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday.
