Martin J. “Marty” Shepard, 59, of Chepachet, passed away Sunday at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was an avid fan of SPIDERMAN.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Agnes (Fox) Shepard.
Marty worked in the workshops of the John E. Fogarty Center for many years, where he was well known and loved. He was a member of the Fogarty Center for thirty-eight years. He was also a longtime participant of Special Olympics Rhode Island, SPRED Group, RI., and was a communicant of Saint Eugene Church, Chepachet.
He leaves a sister, Margaret E. Perreault and her husband Paul Sr., with whom he lived; a brother, Gerard Shepard, Jr. and his wife Jackie; nephews Paul B. Perreault, Jr. and his wife Kim, Brendan and Corey Perreault, Tom Shepard and his wife Nicole; niece Sandy Bates and her husband Davis; cousins Kathy Zaninni Scott Zaninni, Mary Darby and Tom Darby; special friends, Dottie Blanchard, Gail Marshall and Tricia Hawkins and many other relatives and friends He was predeceased by his brother, James J. Shepard and nephew, Christopher Shepard.
The funeral service will be held Friday, at 11:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited and may arrive at 10:00 am.
