Jane A. Shea, age 85, of North Providence, died Saturday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clement P. Shea, Jr. Born in Providence, Jane was the daughter of the late David and Jane A. (Manton) Gibbons.
Jane worked for the Providence Police Department Department of Public Safety for 27 years, 15 as a crossing guard and 12 years as a meter reader. She also worked at the Department of Public Safety at the Brown University Library for 20 years before retiring in 2010.
Jane leaves 2 sons, Stephen P. Shea (PPD) and his wife Jennifer, and Thomas A. Shea and his wife Lisa, 2 daughters, Susan E. Shea and her spouse Diane, and Jane Walker and her husband Steven, 7 grandchildren, Stephen Shea Jr., Matthew Shea, Dillon Shea, Thomas Shea Jr., Brenden Shea, Brian Walker and Laura Walker, and 4 great-grandchildren, Kairah, Aurora, Aniyah, and Noah. She was a sister of the late Helena Lloyd.
Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. The funeral and burial will be private.
