Jane Ann Hodnett, 90, of Providence, previously a resident of Cranston and Portsmouth, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 15, 2018.
Born to the late Michael J. and Anna M. (McElroy) Hodnett on April 16, 1928.
Jane graduated from Classical High School, Pembroke College and received a Masters Degree in Education at Bridgewater State Teachers College.
Jane taught school in Providence for 39 years. She was an avid golfer and a member of Wanumetonomy Golf and Country Club in Middletown. Playing bridge and sewing were also hobbies.
Jane is predeceased by her sister Mary C. Hay and survived by her sister Barbara and brother-in-law Robert J. Hay. She leaves two nephews, Robert Jr. and Michael Hay, and a niece Margaret Dietz and four grandnieces.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Jane on Saturday, September 22, at 10 am in Saint Sebastian Church, 67 Cole Ave, Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 in her memory, would be appreciated.
