Francis "Frank" T. Brothers, of Lynde Street, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Roseanne (Zinno) Brothers.

 

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Agnes C. Brothers, Jr.

Frank was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School.  He served our nation in the United States National Guard.  He was a proud member of the Providence Fire Department, where he worked on Engine 14, Atwells Ave., Engine 11, Broad St., and Ladder 3, Admiral St, before his retirement in 1991. 

 

During his time with the Fire Department, Frank attended the University of Rhode Island, obtaining his degree in Drug & Alcohol Counseling. He later went on to serve as the EAP chairman, and worked as a Health & Saftey Officer for the PFD,  he was also a past Vice President of the Local 799.  In his spare time he volunteered as a coach for the  Mount Pleasant Little League.

 

He was the beloved father of Ryan J. Brothers; Denver, Co, Shaun T. Brothers; Holly Springs, N.C., Krista N. Horbert; Cranston, RI, Jill N. Lamantia; Warwick, RI.

 

He is also survived by his sister Maureen A. Ritz of Warwick and his loving grandchildren, Kenneth, Kayleigh, Jake, Quinn, Camryn, and Lilly. He was pre -deceased by his brother, Robert J. Brothers, III.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence at 10:00 AM.

 

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 4-8 pm. Burial, with military honors will be held at Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place, W 6th floor, Brookline MA 02445 in Frank’s memory would be appreciated.
