Linda Mello

Mello, Linda Ann (Lever), 55, of Market Street passed away on January 1, 2007 at Rhode IslandHospital. She was the beloved wife of Francis Mello. Born in Fall River, MA on November 2, 1951 a daughter of John J. Lever and the late Theresa (Rene) Lever, daughter in law of Mary C. Mello of Seekonk, MA. Mrs. Mello was employed by the Victoria Co. of East Providence as a security officer for many years. President of Post # 122 VFW Auxiliary in Warren. Past Department President of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW State of Rhode Island, she also had a great love for animals. Besides her loving husband of over 16 years she is survived by her children, John E. Resendes Jr., wife Stephanie of Riverside, RI, Theresa R. Resendes of Warren, Laureen M. Mello of Cranston, and her stepchildren Lillian E. Mello of East Providence, Loretta L. Lagasse of West Warwick, Tashay Geoffroy of SC, and Linda M. Hodge of Warwick, sister of John R. Lever and wife Janet of Barrington, RI, Joanne Simmons and husband Edward of Bristol, Joan Ciotti and husband Bernard also of Bristol. She also leaves several loving nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline Metz. Her funeral will be held on FRIDAY at 8:30 am from the WILBUR - ROMANO funeral home 615 Main Street, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Jean Baptiste Church, Main Street, Warren. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence. Calling hours THURSDAY from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to the Warren Animal Shelter 80 Wood Street Warren, RI 02885 in Linda's memory would be deeply appreciated.
