Michael Igoe

Michael Igoe, 82, of Bennington Road, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Holahan) Igoe. They were married for fifty-one years.

Born in County Mayo, Ireland, he was a son of the late Patrick and Ann (Joyce) Igoe.

Mr. Igoe worked for the Narragansett Electric Company as a boiler operator in their Manchester Street plant for 28 years, retiring in 1994. He was a founding member of the Irish Ceilidhe Club of Rhode Island, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and a faithful communicant of Saint Matthew Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Michael J. Igoe and his wife Deborah, Brian P. Igoe and his wife Bethany Hunt Igoe, and Kevin F. Igoe and his wife Karen; a daughter, Eileen M. Brothers and her husband Robert, a brother, William Igoe, a sister, Rita Nally, both of County Mayo, Ireland, and twelve grandchildren, Robert, Brian, and Sean Brothers, Megan, Michael, Patrick, Erin, Hannah, Caitlin, Kevin, Connor, and Aidan Igoe. He was a brother of the late Thomas P. Igoe, Mary Igoe, Bridgie Burke and Josephine Roche.

Michael’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Matthew Church, Elmwood Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Monday, 3 - 7 pm.
