Helen G. Bertherman “Aunt Helen” 89, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center.
Born in Cranston, the daughter of the late Sidney and Helen (Crowley) Bertherman she had lived in Greenville for 40 years, and the last 10 years in North Providence.
She is survived by three sisters, Catherine V. Bagwell of Longmeadow, MA, Clair R. Bailey and Rose Ann Oates, both of Greenville, the late Sidney D. Bertherman, and Jennivive B. Whelan. Beloved aunt of 25 nieces and nephews and 55 great nieces and nephews and 23 great grandnieces and great grand nephews.
Known and loved as “Aunt Helen” to all, she was the link that kept all the family connected. She was a second mother to all the nieces and nephews, and a good friend to many. She was a woman of great faith, and will be missed by all. She was an executive secretary at the Rhode Island Lottery for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Philip Church in Greenville and St. Pius V Church in Providence.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 noon, in St. Pius V Church Eaton St., Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours, Friday 4-7pm.
