Mary J. McGillivray

Cranston: McGillivray, Mary J. (Macera), 93, formerly of Villa Ave, passed peacefully away,July 14, 2012 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center surrounded by her loving family. For 45 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Allan F. McGillivray.

Born in Cranston, she was the loving daughter of Biagio and Filomena (Silvestri) Macera.

A graduate of the Roger Williams School of Nursing, Mary was a professional registered nurse and a US Army veteran of World War II. She was a communicant of both St. Paul's Parish in Cranston and at Sts. Rose & Clement in Warwick.

Mrs. McGillivray is survived by her son Allan F. McGillivray and his wife Maryann of Cranston, by her daughter Margaret McGillivray-Russell and her husband Charles of East Greenwich, by her son William P. McGillivray and his wife Carolyn of Warwick and by her son Stephen J. McGillivray and his wife Mary of Alexandria, VA.

She leaves a sister, Angela Hughes of Weymouth, MA, a sister Evelyn Ripanti of Wilmington, DE, a brother William P. Macera of Worcester, MA. She was the sister of the late Joseph E. Macera. She is remembered by her seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 17, 2012,at 10:00 am in St. Paul Church, One St. Paul Place, Cranston. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are kindly omitted.
